Our
Experience

The Highfield development team is highly skilled and knowledgeable with a huge amount of experience, specific to rural Ireland. With a combined 80 years experience, we have successfully developed many quality windfarms across Ireland over the last 20 years. The team also has significant international experience which is fed back into the process. Our Team is dynamic and focused, and Highfield maintains a preference to keep the expertise for all aspects of the development of projects in-house in Highfield.

Our company wide focus is on developing quality projects with a long term view. In particular in our dealings and when forming relationships we retain integrity as a core principle – being dependable in delivering what we said we would deliver. This emphasise allows us to build a track record that landowners, planners, local communities, suppliers and operators recognise. And this achieves the best outcomes for all parties involved.

We have actively retained the expertise in-house for all aspects of the development of a wind energy site, including:

  • land deal structures
  • commercial agreements
  • site layout design
  • access route analysis,
  • HV and MV electrical works
  • civil works
  • turbine model selection
  • planning expertise covering all technical legislative aspects and environmental aspects
  • all aspects of environmental impact assessments
  • understanding the intricate grid connection process
  • grid connection method and route
  • grid connection agreements
  • securing an off-take agreement for the sale of electricity
  • construction and tendering
  • operations planning
  • negotiation of warranties
  • Operation and Maintenance contracts

This type of approach at Highfield coupled with the depth and breadth of expertise, collectively produces quality wind farm assets that are designed to perform for the long term.

Working in partnership with the local community, we engage in pro-active meaningful public consultation. We understand over many years of working across rural areas the importance that the local community also benefit from this clean form of energy. We value the relationship as it grows and on all our sites, we will be pro-actively initiating the forming of a community fund, which is administered by the local community, to support local initiatives and causes.
